Bounce House Party Themes: 7 Ideas for Orange County Kids’ Parties (and the Right Inflatable for Each)

The easiest way to plan a kids’ party is to start with the inflatable. Pick a bounce house party theme that matches the unit and the rest falls into place: invitations, cake, decorations and even the photo backdrop. Below are seven themes that fit the real inflatables in our Orange County rental lineup, with sizes, prices and simple ideas for each. The decor and activity suggestions are ideas to adapt; the specs and prices come straight from our unit pages.

Quick Answer: Which Theme Matches Which Inflatable?

1. Superhero Party

The Web is a bold red-and-blue combo wrapped in web graphics and topped with a web-slinging hero. It has an enclosed bounce area, an attached slide and a detachable splash pool, so it runs wet or dry. At 17′ × 17′ it also fits more yards than a 29-foot combo.

• Decor: red and blue balloons, a “city skyline” backdrop, and paper masks at the gate.
• Activity: a “hero training” obstacle course on the lawn before kids hit the bounce house.

2. Unicorn and Princess Party

The Unicorn Slide is a pink-and-purple inflatable topped with a smiling unicorn, rainbow wings and fluffy clouds. Riders climb the side staircase and slide into a large splash landing pool. It is a wet slide that can also run dry.

• Decor: pastel balloon arch, rainbow streamers and a “unicorn food” snack table.
• Activity: a station for decorating paper unicorn horns.

3. Shark Party

JAWS is a shark combo with a roomy bounce area and an attached slide, with safe mesh siding and an easy-access entrance. Run it dry or add splash mode for summer.

• Decor: ocean-blue tablecloths, shark-fin napkins and a “danger zone” sign at the bounce house door.
• Activity: “feed the shark” bean-bag toss.

4. Mermaid Party

The Mermaid is a 13′ × 13′ dry bounce house with purple and blue tails and scale detailing. Because it has no slide, the whole unit is jumping space, which suits small yards and younger guests.

• Decor: seashell centerpieces, shimmery streamers and a treasure-chest favor table.
• Activity: a sandbox “treasure hunt” with plastic gems.

5. Ocean and Dolphin Party

We have several ocean-themed options. Dolphin Diver is a dry combo with a tunnel entrance and tall slide. Wave Runner 2 is a 16-foot ocean slide, and Wave Runner 1 is our tallest at 18 feet for $449. If your guests span a wide age range, our Wave Runner 1 vs Wave Runner 2 comparison helps you choose.

• Decor: blue and white balloon waves and beach towels as favors.
• Activity: “dolphin dive” races between turns on the slide.

6. Tropical and Luau Party

Cool Shades is a tropical water slide topped with oversized sunglasses and palm trees, and Cool Shades Junior is the 13′ × 13′ dry bounce-house version at $299. Tropical Paradise is a palm-tree combo with mesh siding and two slide lanes. For a summer pool-party feel, the tropical look pairs well with a wet slide. See our water slide comparison.

• Decor: paper lanterns, flower leis for guests and tropical fruit platters.
• Activity: a limbo contest on the lawn.

7. Building-Block Party

The Mega Block Slide is a colorful, 3D block-themed slide with a central staircase and an extra-wide slide lane into a landing pool. It is a good pick for kids who love building and competing.

• Decor: primary-color balloons and stacked cardboard “blocks” as a photo wall.
• Activity: a building contest with soft foam blocks before bounce time.
